Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) is derived from the seeds of the evening primrose plant. EPO contains gamma linolenic acid (GLA), a fatty acid which the body converts to a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) and which is helpful in maintaining the body’s natural balance of fatty acids.

Evening primrose oil (EPO) is found primarily in a range of supplements but its active ingredient, GLA, can also be found in borage oil supplements and blackcurrant seed oil.
